RECREATION PROGRAMS

INFORMAL RECREATION describes all the self-initiated activities for personal fitness and exercise. Opportunities for "drop-in" use of the facilities and equipment are available during the facilities open hours. Informal Recreation allows individuals to participate as their schedule permits.

SUMMER PROGRAMS are offered at Caltech. Please use the link below for a full schedule of all Summer programs available in 2007.

SPORT CLUBS are comprised of students who have a common interest in a specific sport and compete against other regional teams or provide skill instruction. Club participants require a strong personal commitment since the membership has the responsibility for club leadership, decision-making, and fundraising. The Recreation staff provides professional guidance, assistance with facility scheduling and administrative framework including limited funding support. Participation creates a strong sense of camaraderie and clubs always welcome new members of all skill levels. Club participation is open to all members of Caltech and the Recreation Program.
Recent sports include:
Alpine, Badminton, Ballroom Dance, Cycling, Cricket, Dance Troupe, Fencing, Figure Skating, Floorball, Shoriniji Kempo, Shotokan Karate, Soccer, Surf & Windsurf, Table Tennis, Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball and Water Polo.

INTRAMURAL SPORTS are structured leagues offering men and women from campus and Recreation Program members friendly competition in a variety of activities for beginning to skilled players. Leagues are organized for minimal time commitment and are played with a spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, cooperation, and personal responsibility.
