Heach Coach Rolando Uribe

Head Coach Rolando Uribe
2007 marks the sixth season for Head Coach Rolando Uribe at Caltech and 12 years overall as a collegiate head coach. Coach Uribe is excited to have a very young and eager group to work with. Uribe's ability to teach and coach has traditonally made his players a competitive unit. With this in mind, Coach Uribe serves as the assistant coach for Region IV ODP Boy's 93 and has worked with U-15 National Team. His knowledge and experience of the game has caught the eyes of student-athletes at Caltech. Uribe holds a Master's degree in Education and also serves as the Physical Education Coordinator at Caltech.

During Uribe's tenure at Mt. San Antonio College he led the team to its first playoff appearance in the school's history. This feat earned him the Coach of the Year Award in the South Coast Conference. Before that he coached the men at San Bernadino Valley College for 4 years and the women for 2. Other coaching stops for him have included numerous teams at the club and national levels. He is also an accomplished player, having competed at various levels including professionally. Uribe started his career at Redlands High School where he was a three-year letterman. He then went on to play for California State University, San Bernadino where he lettered 4 consecutive years on the varsity team. As a freshman and sophomore he was named Most Valuable Player on the team as well as making the All-Far West and All-Conference teams. He was named California Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Year in 1991 and in 1993 he was named to the All-American Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association. After college he was drafted by the Anaheim Splash, a professional indoor soccer team in Anaheim, in addition to becoming a member of the United States National Soccer Team.
