Head Coach Mandy Gamble
Mandy Gamble, a former All - American, assumed the Head Coaching responsibilities of Caltech's Men's and Women's Tennis Team in January 2002. In her 3 seasons as Head Coach, Gamble lead the Men's Team to a NCAA DIII West Regional Ranking of 16, a 5th place finish in the Southern California Athletic Conference (SCIAC), and Caltech's only 1st round win in the prestigious Ojai Tournament. The Women's Team successfully reaches its team goals every year and consistently receives the SCIAC Sportsmanship Award each year. In 2002 Coach Gamble along with both the Men and Women's Tennis teams and the entire Caltech Athletic Department were awarded the most distinguished honor by any athlete - an induction into the National Sportsmanship Hall of Fame in Newport Rhode Island.

Gamble, a 1995 graduate of California State University, Los Angeles, received both Academic and All - American honors during her college playing career, as well as an NCAA DII Regional Ranking. After receiving her BA in Speech Communication and graduating cum laude, Gamble went on to earn her MA in Communication Studies and Performance Theory. Before starting her position as Head Coach, Gamble began work on her Ph.D. in Cultural Studies at the Claremont Graduate University. In Grad school Gamble spent time as a lecturer at the University of La Verne, Mt. San Antonio College, Citrus College, College of the Canyons and Cal State LA.

Active in So Cal tennis, Gamble earned a Southern California Tennis Association # 7 ranking in the Women's Open division, Gamble came to the United States from England in 1977 to continue her junior tennis career, where she won tournaments in Spain, United States, and England. Gamble was coached by the Southern California coaching legend, Robert Lansdorp.

Gamble is a P1 United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) certified teaching professional. In addition to her head coaching duties, Gamble teaches private tennis lessons and junior and adult clinics. In the off-season Gamble is an avid bike rider and competes in road, mountain bike and cyclocross races. In 2003 Gamble won the So Cal Cyclocross Cup Series and in 2004 competed in her first National Road race at the Park City Cycling Festival. When she is not coaching or riding her bike Gamble does Animal Assisted Pet Therapy at local Los Angeles Children's Hospitals with her Golden Retriever, Rocky.
